The Poison will not go away

Some of you may still remember that in January 2024, a jury in Pennsylvania returned a verdict ordering Monsanto and its parent company, Bayer, to pay $2.25 billion in damages in a lawsuit filed by a man (49) who claimed that he had cancer caused by the herbicide “Roundup” from Monsanto. Of course this is not the only lawsuit regarding Roundup; in August 2018, a terminally ill cancer patient in the United States sought damages from Monsanto, saying that he developed malignant lymphoma due to Roundup used to maintain school grounds. The trial revealed secret Monsanto documents showing that glyphosate has the potential to cause cancer. Therefore, damages were awarded for “Monsanto’s failure to warn of the potential for cancer when it knew about it,” and on August 10, 2018, the City of San Francisco, California, awarded Monsanto (which was acquired by Bayer in 2019) $289 million in damages.

According to Sokolove law firm, Bayer has approximately 170,000 Roundup damage claims filed as of June 2025. The majority of these claims allege that the victims developed various types of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma as a result of herbicide exposure.

Because of the large number of damages, it continues to pay for using glyphosate. Bayer announced in 2023 that it would remove glyphosate, the main ingredient in its herbicide, from consumer Roundup. And an analysis of the main ingredient used in place of glyphosate, published last year, has raised great concern.

Last year, an environmental group called Friends of the Earth examined the allegedly newly reformulated Roundup sold at Home Depot and Lowe’s, two of the largest home garden retailers in the United States. The report found that several Roundup products still contained glyphosate, which means that the promises made by Bayer were not kept. When new Roundup products, that did not contain glyphosate as an ingredient, were examined, four new active ingredients were found as alternatives: diquat dibromide, fluazifop-P-butyl, triclopyr, and imazapic. And the scary thing is that all four of these chemicals pose a higher risk of long-term reproductive health problems than glyphosate, according to the EPA’s evaluation of safety studies. The worst is diquat dibromide, which is found in all new Roundup formulations, is 200 times more chronically toxic than glyphosate, is classified as a highly dangerous pesticide, and is banned in the European Union!

According to a study published this May in the medical journal, Frontiers in Pharmacology, diquat dibromide may weaken the intestinal barrier, kill beneficial bacteria, interfere with nutrient absorption, and induce chronic inflammation. We all know how important gut health is. Deterioration of the intestinal environment can have serious effects on the entire body. Studies show that the harmful effects of diquat on the intestines can also extend to other organs such as the kidneys, lungs, and liver. It also decreases the production of neurotransmitters and can cause a variety of mental problems such as depression, anxiety, mood swings, and low energy levels.

If these highly toxic herbicides are used in your neighborhood or sprayed in your office garden at work, the poisons may be accumulating in your body without you knowing it! In today’s modern society, not only herbicides but also various other toxic substances are constantly entering the body due to lifestyle, diet, and environment, so please detoxify your body regularly.
