As many of you know, New York legislators recently voted to eliminate any religious exemptions for vaccines. It seems like the measles outbreak in New York’s orthodox Jewish communities led to this decision. However, according to the National Vaccine Information Center, while 588 cases in New York City have been reported since last fall, there have been no cases of measles reported among children attending school with religious exemptions, and the CDC has stated that 97 percent of children attending kindergarten in New York in the 2017-2018 school year had received two doses of MMR vaccine.
In fact, the CDC admitted that the recent measles outbreak was NOT caused by children with Religious Exemptions: “More than half (approximately 58%) of the cases in NYS outside of NYC have been children too young to attend school (infants through age 3), as well as adults (age 19+) who are no longer in school. Religious exemptions do not apply in any of these situations.”
Yet, our childrens’s constitutal rights have been removed in NY.
If we don’t take any actions against lawmakers whose power is controlled by pharmaceutical giants, we will eventually be forced to take all vaccines as adults and authorities could forcibly vaccinate a child without parental consent.
Senate bill S3899 will allow girls (and boys) as young as 9 to get the dangerous Gardasil vaccine without parental knowledge or consent. To make matters worse, the law will end up targeting Black & Latino girls in the 200 school-based clinics located throughout NYC. Those clinics are in predominantly Black & Latino neighborhoods where they will have the vaccine on hand to give to children as young as 9 with no parental knowledge or consent. This is a dangerous, deadly policy that should never become law in New York or anywhere else on the planet.
Some of you might be Pro-Vaccine, but you have probably heard of death or injury occurring from vaccination. Also, there is The National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (NVICP), which was created in 1986 as a no-fault alternative to the traditional legal system for resolving vaccine injury petitions. If there’s a risk, there must be a choice. Do you want to take away a choice if there is a risk involved in a treatment of disease? I understand that you have fear that non-vaccinated kids will cause vaccinated kids to become ill. However, logically it should not! The reason why there is vaccine is to prevent disease. [replace prior sentence with this:If your child is vaccinated, they are protected from contracting illness from a non vaccinated person] Moreover, the measles genotype in New York State outside of New York City is D8 and the genotype in NYC has included B3 in addition to D8. Both measles genotypes D8 and B3 are currently causing outbreaks in the United States. Guess where those genotypes came from?
